Apple finally released the final version of iOS 26 as a free update for compatible devices. This version is the largest iPhone software redesign since the introduction of iOS 7 in 2013 and, in addition to a completely new appearance, includes upgrading the original apps and expanding Apple Intelligence.
The main focus of this transformation is the language of a new design called “Liquid Glass” that gives the system a dynamic and fluid look. This style of design creates a fracture and reflection of the light from the underlying layers, an attractive visual depth in Lacquercarin, icons, control center and system apps. Apple’s goal of this redesign has been to create an attractive yet familiar experience to establish a complete coordination between the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Apple TV. On the lock screen, the clock is intelligently resized to remain readable alongside notifications, and the wallpapers with the device’s motion, with a subtle 3D depth. The icons are now customizable with bright, dark, colored and transparent styles.
In this version, Apple’s artificial intelligence also appears smarter than ever. The “visual intelligence” feature can analyze the content on the screen and allow the user to add an event directly to the calendar, translate text, or ask ChatGPT about question images without exiting the current app. The “Live Translation” feature also provides instantly in messaging, face -to -face and subtitle phone calls and even translated sound.
Key apps have also undergone significant changes. The Phone app has a seamless layout by combining the interests of the recent and voice messages. Messages support dynamic backgrounds and live polls. The Photos app, with the separation of Library and Collections, offers separate views, and the camera, with a simpler layout, provides faster controls. For gaming enthusiasts, the new Apple Games app focuses all the content of Apple Arcade’s games, achievements and service and brings a more fluid frame rate with Metalfx Frame Interpole. This update is available for the iPhone 12 and newer models, although Apple’s artificial intelligence capabilities are limited to the iPhone 15 Pro and newer models, some of which are still the best Apple phones.
