Last night, during the opening ceremony of Tesla’s new factory in Texas, Elon Musk announced that the production of the first version of the company’s humanoid robot will probably start in 2023. There are many ambiguities regarding this robot called Optimus and it is not yet clear what exactly it offers. Elon Musk has claimed that this robot will eventually be able to do anything that humans are not interested in doing.
Although Elon Musk said in 2018 that artificial intelligence is a more dangerous threat than nuclear weapons, he claimed that all aspects were taken into account to make this robot so that it would not be like Terminator and other similar cases. Despite the claim that the production of this robot may begin next year, one of the famous researchers in the field of artificial intelligence has announced that such a robot will undoubtedly not be able to perform all human tasks by the end of 2023.
He says that given that the robot has not yet been shown publicly, this alone indicates that it is not ready. This researcher believes that although the introduction of such a robot in 2023 is possible, its capabilities will by no means be as high as Elon Musk’s ambitions.
