New news suggests that Meta has managed to hire two senior artificial intelligence scholars from Openai.
According to a report released by Wired, Jason Wei, an Openai researcher, has joined the Meta Synthetic Abrahaous Lab. Also, Hyung Won Chong is another researcher at Openai artificial intelligence who will probably join the meta.
Meta is attracted to senior researchers Openai
Informed sources have told Wired that the two researchers’ profiles have been deactivated on the Openai Slack Communications platform.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg tries to form the meta artificial cloud laboratory by attracting superior talents and presenting impressive incentives and not to be left behind in achieving AGI. Jason Wei and Hyun Wong Chong are the newest members of the Meta AI to join Openai.
Jason’s main focus on Openai was on O3 models and deep research projects. He joined Openai after working on Google’s “thinking chain” research on Google. Chong also worked on deep research and O1 model in Openai. His research has focused on reasoning and agents in the field of artificial intelligence.
Resources have told Wired that the two had a close relationship with each other, and perhaps this is why Zuckerberg has attracted them at the same time. Zuckerberg seems to be interested in recruiting those who have a deep understanding of each other and have already worked together to form a more united team.
Meta and Openai have recently been key to the talent war. Meta is attracted to the top artificial intelligence talents with the aim of launching its artificial cloud laboratory and has attracted several senior Openai artificial intelligence researchers. Meta has even gone to Apple’s artificial intelligence professionals.
In response to the attraction of his talents by Meta, Openai has announced that it is reforming its employees and researchers. Openai, of course, has recently employed four senior engineers from Meta, Tesla and XAI.
