Mohammed bin Zayed University is rapidly developing for artificial intelligence (MBZUAI) in the UAE, with the aim of becoming Stanford of the Persian Gulf. Founded in year 6, it is the first specialized training center in the field of artificial intelligence in the world and plays a central role in the UAE’s national strategy for advancement in technology and artificial intelligence education. Alongside education, the university attracts international elites, development of internal infrastructure and training specialized force for domestic technology companies such as the G42.
After the US position in the export of chip, the UAE will import hundreds of thousands of advanced chips annually by year 2; This provides the infrastructure needed to grow this university and attract talents. With new restrictions in the United States for international students, some global elites in MBZUA have preferred Western options. About 5 % of graduates remain in the UAE and are attracted to local technology institutions.
Despite the significant improvements, MBZUAI faces challenges such as lack of worldwide fame, government budget dependence, and political concerns about scientific freedom. Some researchers are concerned about the limitations of freedom of expression in the UAE, but university administrators emphasize the efforts to create a free and modern environment and provide extensive educational and financial benefits for international students.
