Art has existed since the beginning of humans. For thousands of years, humans have used art to tell the story of life and to preserve and depict history. Like technology, art has gone through many changes and we have gone from cave paintings to pixels. All types of art have nothing in common except their uniqueness. No artist paints or sculpts or writes a text like another. This uniqueness is something that artificial intelligence cannot provide so simply.

In this context, it is better to consider one of the most prominent artists and painters in history, Cold Monet. Claude Monet is known as one of the founders of the Impressionism movement that took place in France in the mid to late 19th century. Impressionists were not afraid to use seemingly unfinished brushwork. In fact, their paintings were a rebellion against the traditional and highly realistic art of their time.

And now even artificial intelligence tools recognize the name of Claude Monet and this style well. Now, to demonstrate this well, we will use the DALL-E 2 tool to create a painting similar to Claude Monet’s Water Lilies.

At first, without using the name of Claude Monet or the style of impressionism, we wrote the text “Oil painting of water lilies on a pond” and we came across 4 images similar to the one below.

This painting is not bad, but naturally it is not considered in the style of Claude Monet’s works. But in the following, we used the same text with the keywords Claude Monet and Impressionism, and 4 images similar to the one below are provided.

Now we are dealing with a painting similar to the works of Claude Monet. Therefore, without using the creativity of Claude Monet, artificial intelligence cannot provide us with such a work. The same thing applies to all kinds of images obtained from artificial intelligence tools. In other words, these artificial intelligence tools rely on human creativity.

Algorithm cannot fill the place of creativity

The human brain and artificial intelligence do not work in the same way. Humans have the ability to think, but machines have not achieved such a capability, at least not yet. Therefore, although humans benefit from the ability to create and imagine, machines can only learn from the data and information they have access to.

Algorithms cannot replace human minds for years. These systems have nothing to say about human feelings, experiences and thoughts.

Welcoming technological innovations, not fearing them

Currently, many artists are worried about losing their position due to the epidemic of artificial intelligence tools. But the fact is that no one can stop the innovations of different technologies. Therefore, instead of being afraid of new technologies, artists can start using them.

For example, artists who want to draw a painting can create a large number of images using these tools, and finally, by taking ideas from these images, they will be able to create unique and attractive works.
