The mobile chip market is on the verge of arriving at a new and, of course, familiar actor. Xiaomi, one of the prominent names in the smartphone industry, has returned with exciting news after a while in the field of dedicated chips. The Chinese company has confirmed that it will unveil its dedicated XRing 01 by the end of this month. The move is a new season in Xiaomi’s activities and is a sign of the company’s efforts to join brands such as Google with Tensor chips, Samsung with the Exynos series and Huawei with Kirin chipsets that have taken a dedicated chip production path.
Lee Joon, a well -known figure and co -founder of Xiaomi, has officially announced the news through his account in Weibo and ended rumors in recent months. He noted that the development of the chip has lasted more than 10 years. The comment is reminiscent of Xiaomi’s previous effort in the area, the Surge S1 chip, introduced in 2017. Now, with XRing 01, Xiaomi seems to have returned to the field with more experience and more ambitious goals. The main purpose of the move is to achieve more control over supply chain, deeper optimization of hardware and software, and distinguish future products.
Currently, official information on XRing 01 technical specifications is very limited. However, informal sources and disclosure have revealed some possible details. According to reports, which Gizmochina also referred to, the Xiaomi chip will be assigned to Taiwanese TSMC using an advanced 4nm process. This lithography will promise a powerful function and optimal energy consumption. The structure of the CPU cores (CPUs) is also considered and is said to use a 1+3+4 layout. The compound will include a 3.2 GHz ultrasound core, a three -core functional core with a frequency of 2.5 GHz, and a four -core low -powered 2.0 GHz frequency. Of course, this information is still speculation and we have to wait for official approval.
In terms of processing power, analysts and revelations such as Yogesh Barr predict that XRing 01 competitive performance is likely to offer at 2022 flagship chips such as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or GEN 2. This means that the XRing 01 will probably be slightly lower than the current market giants, the Snapdragon 8 Elite and Dimensity 9400. Such an approach is not unlike Google’s strategy with Tensor chips that focus more on user experiences and artificial intelligence. It is also rumored that the 5G modem will be provided by Unisoc.
In the case of the first product that will benefit from this chip, speculation is inclined to the Xiaomi 15S Pro. The device, known as the “Dijun” password, is likely to be a improved interdisciplinary model after the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Ultra world launch. The handset is expected to inherit many of the advanced Series 15 hardware specifications, including collaborating with Leica on the camera system. Given that we are in the middle of the month, we will soon see more information on this chip and device. This Xiaomi move could make competition hotter in the chip market and lead to more innovation in the industry.
