Argentine President Javier Milli has unveiled an ambitious plan to turn his country into a global hub of artificial intelligence. The project includes the construction of high -profile data centers whose energy will be provided through small modular nuclear power plants (SMRs). These power plants are set to be launched by the investment of US private companies and their main focus will be to provide energy for advanced artificial intelligence projects.
Mill has also proposed the creation of a “nuclear city” in the Patagonia region to provide a focused environment for technology companies. However, experts have warned of numerous challenges, including lack of public funding, poor infrastructure and environmental concerns. This ambitious program is part of a desire to redefine Argentina‘s position in the global technology arena.
