Openai has introduced a new feature for ChatGPT artificial intelligence that enables the tool to recall and use previous users’ conversations to improve future interactions. According to Sam Altman, CEO of Openai, this feature allows ChatGpt to create a more personal and relevant experience for each user by referring to all past conversations. Although such a capability has already existed, now the ChatGPT memory is much better than in the past and remembers more personal data.
Using this feature, ChatGPT can extract information such as preferences or topics of interest to users from previous conversations and provide answers that are more in line with each individual’s specific needs. Users can also add specific data directly to the memory of the tool using the term “Remember” to be used in the future.
This feature is optionally designed and users can enable or disable it through the Personalization section in the ChatGPT settings. In this section, it also provides the opportunity to manage stored information that allows users to completely or partially delete registered data. ChatGpt keeps this information for an unlimited period, but users can erase them at any time and monitor their data.
This update is gradually available for users of PLUS and Pro shared services. However, Openai has announced that this feature will not be available in areas such as the European Union, Britain, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. This constraint may be due to legal differences in the protection of data in these areas.
This new feature reflects OpenAI’s commitment to improve the efficiency and flexibility of ChatGPT. By adding the ability to review past conversations, this tool can act as a smarter assistant that not only responds to users’ queries, but also offers more relevant suggestions by better understanding their needs. This feature can be very useful for users who are looking for continuous and long -term interactions with ChatGPT.
For example, if a user in the past has told ChatGPT that he is interested in technology news, the tool can provide information in response to subsequent queries. This type of personalization not only enhances the performance of the tool, but also improves the user experience and makes users feel that their needs are better understood.
