Meta intends to test a joint currency service for its smart chats called Meta AI. The service is similar to the services that Openai and Microsoft offer to access more advanced versions of their chats. An informed source told Reuters on Thursday that the experiment began in the second quarter of this year. But he added that they do not expect the service to make significant income by next year.
Launched in September 2023, the Meta AI is a virtual assistant who uses large language models to do reasoning. The move comes as Matta CEO Mark Zuckerberg wants to strengthen the company’s position against competitors such as Openai (supported by Microsoft) and Google in competition to dominate artificial intelligence. Zuckerberg announced in January that its company is planning to spend up to $ 65 billion this year to expand artificial intelligence infrastructure.
Meta is also creating a new part of its Reality Labs unit to develop artificial intelligence -equipped humanitarian robots that can help in physical work. According to CNBC reports on Thursday, the social networking giant wants to launch an independent Meta AI app in the second quarter to join Facebook and Instagram.
Big technology companies have invested billions of dollars to develop artificial intelligence infrastructure since the success of ChatGpt. Microsoft announced in January that it plans to spend about $ 80 billion in fiscal year 2025. Amazon also said its costs in 2025 would be higher than the projected $ 75 billion in 2024.
Apart from US companies, Chinese companies such as Deep Six have recently been beyond expectations, and even said in the next month, Deepsic plans to unveil its new model R2. Finally, these competitions have significantly increased the speed of artificial intelligence.
