Production and release of free audio books with elevenlabs
Elevenlabs have announced that authors can publish their audio books at no cost through the company’s publishing section. Available on Android and iOS devices, this platform allows the authors to upload their text and get the audio version after a few minutes.
All the sounds of the book narrators come from the company’s artificial intelligence archives, according to Elevenlabs, will be natural, varied and proportional to the text. The authors can choose from more than a thousand different voices, and listeners in the Elevenreader app can choose their favorite sound to listen to the books.
Elevenlabs have also introduced a new income model to encourage authors. According to this model, if users listen to the audio book at least 11 minutes, the author will receive $ 1.1. Initially, these payments are made only for US -based writers and English -language books, but the company plans to expand it to 32 other languages.
Elevenlabs are developing a dedicated market whereby authors can sell their books. The company intends to make audio books available to all writers and publishers by providing cheap and fast tools.
Unlike the Amazon Audible platform, which often forces authors to sign proprietary contracts, Elevenlabs have no exclusive restriction. Authors can publish their books on several platforms at the same time, but many other platforms such as Audible, Apple Bokes, Kobo and Barnes & Nobile may not accept artificial intelligence audio books.
Elevenlabs have so far helped audio platforms such as Pocket FM and Kuku FM convert text content into audio. The company also has programs to enhance the quality of artificial intelligence sounds, add more languages and improve users’ listening experience.
