Perplexity, a familiar name in the field of artificial intelligence search engines, has now launched a new chapter with a new mobile assistant for Android. This smart assistant will play a role in the daily tasks of Android users beyond a simple questioning tool. Features such as email writing, adjusting essential reminders, booking restaurants and doing a variety of other tasks are all available to users of this new assistant.
The remarkable thing about the new perplexity assistant is its use of multiplicity. This feature allows users not only to ask questions about the content on the phone screen, but also ask the assistant to analyze the environment and provide related information using the device camera. Perplexity has shared a practical sample to clarify the performance of this assistant. In this example, the user asks the assistant to book a taxi service for him. After understanding the desired destination of the user, the smart assistant automatically enables the Uber app and quickly performs the taxi requesting steps.
Despite the variety of capabilities, it should be noted that the perplexity assistant still does not interact with all your mobile applications and features. For example, there is currently no access to programs such as Slack and Reddit for this assistant, and it cannot be used to comment on YouTube Video Comments.
A spokesman for Perplexity, Sarah Platok, said in an interview with the Varj website that the support of the assistant will currently include YouTube, Spatifa and Uber services, along with email, messaging and clock programs. He also stated that Perplexity developers are constantly trying to add more support for programs and functions in the near future.
Activating this assistant is simply possible through the Perplexity app. In the startup process, users are asked to select Perplexity as the default assistant of their device. After these settings, users can quickly access the Perplexity Assistant by pulling the finger from the lower left corner of the screen or pressing and holding the Home button. Finally, it should be noted that the iOS version of this assistant is not yet available to iOS users. Platok has expressed hope that the iOS version “if Apple’s licenses are granted” will be released soon.
