In its search engine, Google is testing a new animation for displaying the content of AI Overviews, which looks more attractive and innovative than the current version. This change, coordinated with the Gemini artificial intelligence model, affects the visual and functional capabilities of displaying these contents.
According to “9to5Google”, currently AI Overviews when loading, first shows the term Searching, then changes to Generating. These steps are marked with blue lines and the Gemini logo and the words AI Overview or Search Labs.
The future of AI Overviews in Google search engine
The new version of the animation has more steps. Now, the first page will directly show the Generating statement. Then messages like Looking this up and Putting it all together are seen in different parts of the page.
Meanwhile, the blue and purple light is pulsing, providing a visual representation of the data processing. This animation specifically makes more connections between AI Overviews and Gemini.
With the rapid development of artificial intelligence technology, Google prepares AI Overviews to meet the more complex needs of users. With the release of the Gemini 2.0 model, this capability can answer multi-step questions, solve advanced math problems, and even analyze multimedia queries. These features show Google’s focus on improving the user experience and providing more accurate and useful information. Soon, these new technologies will transform user searches and make them smarter than ever.
These changes may be a prelude to the wider use of Gemini 2.0 models. Earlier this month, Google tested its new model for AI Overviews in the search engine. With advanced reasoning capabilities, Gemini 2.0 helps the feature better handle more complex topics, math equations, multi-step questions, and coding. Wide release of this model is planned for early next year.
Of course, this new animation has not yet been publicly released to all users and is still in the testing phase. This change can make users’ searches smarter and improve the user experience.
