Almost 7 months ago OpenAI unveiled the advanced video chat feature with ChatGPT, now this exciting feature is released to users.
According to a TechCrunch report, ChatGPT can now video chat with Plus, Pro, and Teams users on iOS and Android in addition to advanced voice calling capabilities. Also, this feature will be available for institutional and student subscribers in January 2025.
With the new feature, you can turn on your phone’s camera and ask ChatGPT about what you see, and you can also show the AI what’s on your device’s screen via the ‘Share Screen’ option.
Video chat capability with ChatGPT
OpenAI’s video mode is just like a video call, and ChatGPT responds in real time to what users show in the video. Artificial intelligence with this capability can see what is around the user, identify objects and even remember people who introduce themselves.
In many ways, this new ChatGPT feature does what the Humane Pin and Rabbit r1 AI gadgets were meant to do: an AI voice and video assistant that can be with you all the time and ask it about what it sees and Get real-time answers.
One of the uses of video chat with CharGPT is its Share Screen option. With this feature, if you encounter a problem in your system, instead of describing it to the chatbot, you can show it directly so that ChatGPT will respond to you in real time.
Last week, however, Microsoft released Copilot Vision, which allows Pro subscribers to have Copilot recognize what’s on their screen while browsing the web. Of course, Google Gemini also has this capability.
