Tim Cook says Apple wasn’t the first in artificial intelligence, but it will be the best

Apple’s proprietary artificial intelligence has yet to be officially released to the public, but Tim Cook says the service is changing people’s lives, including his own.

Apparently, Apple is two years behind the rest of the competition in the artificial intelligence industry, but Apple CEO Tim Cook doesn’t care. On the one hand, Apple has been operating in the field of artificial intelligence, machine learning, for at least a decade, but on the other hand, it does not seem that the company has previously operated in the field of specialized generative artificial intelligence.

“We weren’t the first to do AI, but we’ve done it in a way that we think is best for the customer,” Cook said in a new interview with the Wall Street Journal.

He continued:

“We don’t have a problem with the fact that we’re not the first company in this field, but we’ve worked on AI in other ways before and we think the end product is the best for the customer. If you talk to 100 people, every 100 of them will tell you: Apple is the best.”

Tim Cook’s comment on using text summarization with Apple Intelligence

Tim Cook says about Apple Intelligence that it makes extensive use of text summarization. He now relies on the service’s digests for his email messages, and says it has changed his daily habits.

Cook says:

“If I can save time here and there, I’ll get something important done at the end of the day, week, or month. This important thing has changed my life.”

He believes the benefits he has already seen in Apple intelligence will be the same for everyone and transform people’s lives.

Of course, his words do not mean that he expects everyone’s life to change immediately with Apple Intelligence, but he says that eventually “it will happen to all of us”.

Apple has said that Apple Intelligence will be released in different stages and in different regions over the next few months. The first major version of this artificial intelligence system is expected to be released on October 28 (November 7).
