Nvidia has just announced that it will start its cooperation with the largest UAE company active in the field of artificial intelligence. The goal of this collaboration is to set up a weather forecasting system with the help of artificial intelligence.
What will be the result of Nvidia’s cooperation with G42?
G42 is the largest artificial intelligence company in the United Arab Emirates, with its headquarters in Abu Dhabi. The company recently formalized its partnership with Nvidia to develop an AI-based tool that aims to improve the accuracy of weather forecasting. Nvidia’s open-source Earth-2 platform will play a key role in this, which was developed to predict weather conditions and not only has an interactive user interface; It also provides features such as a high-resolution simulator.
According to executives of the two companies, the result of the collaboration between Nvidia and G42 is a weather prediction system with a resolution of square kilometers that can increase the accuracy of current models. Also, a center called Climate Tech Lab will be established in Abu Dhabi, which will be used for research and development. This center will analyze more than 100 petabytes of atmospheric data, which can ultimately be used to achieve the stated goals.
In his comment about this cooperation, the CEO of Nvidia has announced that the Abu Dhabi Weather Center will be equipped with the most advanced processing equipment and artificial intelligence technologies that can be useful for millions of people around the world. In recent years, the company under his management has focused on artificial intelligence accelerators and is trying to make simulations of various phenomena easier by using digital twins. For example, Earth-2 is a digital Earth simulator that can process complex atmospheric patterns and analyze raw scientific data for practical use.
In recent months, the Emirati company G42 has been able to register many commercial successes, among which it is possible to mention the attraction of 1.5 billion dollars from Microsoft. Of course, this company had to negotiate with the American government to attract capital and promised to stop all its cooperation with China. The mentioned Emirati institution is currently establishing two centers in Abu Dhabi city in order to formulate and develop standards related to artificial intelligence. Other important partners of G42 include OpenAI, which can make it the main hub of artificial intelligence in the Middle East and even Asia. The company is part of the $1.5 trillion empire of Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, brother of the ruler of Abu Dhabi and president of the United Arab Emirates.
