Adobe announced that users will soon be able to try the company’s artificial intelligence model for video production. The company says the AI capabilities for video production will be available in beta mode in the Premiere Pro app and on the Firefly website before the end of 2024.
According to a TechCrunch report, Adobe says that its three AI capabilities, Text to Video, Generative Extend, and Image to Video, are currently in private beta, but will be made public soon.
Generative Extend, which lets you extend the length of any video by two seconds, is coming to the Premiere Pro beta program in late 2024. Text-to-video and image-to-video capabilities, which create five-second videos from text or image commands, will be available later this year on Firefly’s dedicated website.
Adobe AI tools for video production
Adobe’s text-to-video tool allows users to generate video clips using text descriptions and modify the output using a variety of camera controls related to camera angle, movement, and distance. Adobe also says that Firefox’s text-to-video capability is very good at recognizing the correct spelling of words, something that video production models struggle with.
Also, with the ability to convert image to video, you can produce a video by inserting a reference image. It also seems that the output quality of these tools is equal to the quality of the videos produced with the Sora model. Of course, you can make maximum five-second clips with these tools.
One advantage that Adobe’s model may have over Sora is that because Firefox is trained with licensed content, the AI will be safe to use and could alleviate some concerns about copyright infringement.
