Google co-founder and former Alphabet boss Sergey Brin says he works at Google “almost every day”; Because nothing is as exciting as the recent advancement in artificial intelligence, and it doesn’t want to be left behind in this field.
Brin says he works non-stop on Google’s AI projects. He revealed this during the All-In Summit in Los Angeles this week. Last year, several publications reported that Brin was back at Google headquarters working on various AI projects, but this is the first time Brin has spoken publicly about his return to Google’s AI projects.
Brin said about artificial intelligence:
“This field is big and fast. I have read some articles about extrapolation (calculations)… and I don’t know if I believe them or not; “Partly because the algorithmic advances that have come in the last few years are actually outpacing the increase in processing power that goes into these models.”
What really excites Brin, and the main reason he returned to Google after retiring in 2019, is artificial intelligence. Since rejoining Google in 2023, Brin has been instrumental in the development of its AI products, such as Gemini.
Brin says the most impressive part for him is the generalizability of Gemina’s AI model; From the ability to collect a summary of several Gmail messages to the capabilities of this technology in coding.
Sergi Brin’s activity on Google’s Astra project?
Google is also working on another project called Astra. Project Astra, which is essentially Google’s vision-capable multifaceted AI that can perform operations like “reasoning, planning, and remembering,” is Google’s most ambitious AI project that Brin is likely working on. In fact, this system uses your phone’s camera to answer questions and provide needed solutions.
Brin previously said about the Astra project and that it is compared to Google Glass 10 years ago in terms of its capabilities, this project is very complete and after 10 years, this is the software that should be presented.
