Apple is going to unveil its iPhone 16 series today. This series of iPhones has a special focus on artificial intelligence capabilities. Now it has been reported that two features, Image Playground and Genmoji, which are related to Apple Intelligence, are supposed to be released later this year in the iOS 18.2 update.
According to “Mark German” from Bloomberg publication, Image Playground and Genmoji capabilities will be available to users with the release of iOS 18.2. The first beta version of iOS 18.2 is scheduled to be released in October (October or November), and the release of the final version is also postponed to December (around December).

Image Playground and Genmoji are among the new Apple software features that use the Apple Intelligence artificial intelligence kit to process their activities. The Image Playground feature allows Apple users to create creative AI images that include animation, illustration, and sketch creation.
The Genmoji feature also allows Apple users to create custom emojis by issuing text commands. These emoticons can reflect a person’s mood or situation and are completely personalized and made based on the user’s instructions. After creating these emojis, users can use them in their messages like normal emoticons. Apple is also going to make the Genmoji API available to developers so that they can add Genmoji support to their apps.
The first Apple Intelligence features will be available to users with iOS 18.1 and possibly in October. Among these basic features, we can mention some tools for writing and summarizing texts, summarizing notifications, suggesting answers in the Messages application, the ability to record and transcribe phone calls, and the Clean Up tool in the Photos application to remove extra objects in the photo.
Apple Intelligence will also be available on iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max. Regular versions of the iPhone 15 do not receive Apple’s artificial intelligence due to hardware limitations.
