The artificial intelligence service Apple Intelligence is one of the latest Apple products, which is supposed to be the strength of the iPhone 16 series. But this service, which has not been introduced for a long time, has encountered a big problem. Many prominent sites such as Instagram have announced that they will not allow Apple Intelligence access to their data.
According to Wired magazine, Apple’s artificial intelligence, like any other similar service, must access and process content published on the Internet in order to increase its level of knowledge and learn new topics. But it seems some big websites aren’t going to give their data to Apple Intelligence for free.
Popular sites do not allow Apple Intelligence access to their data
Among the sites and services that have blocked Apple’s artificial intelligence bot access to their data, we can mention Facebook, Instagram, The New York Times, The Atlantic, Craigslist, and Condé Nast. The names of some reputable news publications such as Vox Media, USA Today news service, Financial Times and Tumblr are also seen in this list.
Of course, Apple’s free use of internet content to teach some of its services is not a new issue. The company has used Applebot for many years to train the Siri voice assistant, and this bot has recently been used to train Apple Intelligence.
AI chatbots such as ChatGPT now depend on internet-level content to increase their knowledge. The big problem of these chatbots is that they use a lot of copyrighted content without paying their rights.
Of course, Apple itself also provided a tool to sites a few months ago that allowed them to block the access of the company’s artificial intelligence bot to its contents. Now, if Apple intends to use the data of these sites, it has to sign an agreement with them and probably has to pay a significant amount.
