According to Ecomotive, the opening ceremony of Iran’s Artificial Intelligence Annual Award (IAAA) was held today on July 20 with the support of the Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, and more than a hundred startups participated in it. In this ceremony, Shagaig Haqjoy Jovanmard, the head of the Strategic Technologies Development Center, Seyyed Mohammad Mahdavi, the secretary of the Cognitive Sciences and Technologies Development Headquarters, and a group of technology activists, academics and artificial intelligence enthusiasts were present.
Iman Karimi, the secretary of Iran’s annual artificial intelligence award, said about the importance of artificial intelligence: “Today, it seems that artificial intelligence has reached the status of nuclear technology, and the countries that gain access to this knowledge can shape the future of the world.”
Annual Iran Artificial Intelligence Award (iAAA) is a competition from the National Elite Foundation’s series of problem-oriented competitions in the form of Shahid Babaei’s project, which is held in both face-to-face and non-face-to-face formats with the aim of educating those interested in this technology in the country. In this competition, serious issues of the industry in the field of artificial intelligence are raised and in addition to advancing the goals of the competition, several real issues are also solved.
This competition is organized by the Deep Necks Academy of the Cognitive Science Headquarters, the National Brain Mapping Laboratory and the National Elite Foundation. The participants learn the applied topics of artificial intelligence and machine learning using offline training and work interactively on a single problem. Participating individuals and teams can benefit from the opportunity to be among the top ranks and participate in the grand prize of the competition in the amount of 600 million Tomans.
After a period of about three months of training and interaction with practice and practical projects, the participants have three months to work on the competition challenge and present the results on an ongoing basis. At this stage, mentors and professors are also with the participants to improve the performance of their products and solutions. After the deadline for solving the problem, all participants will be evaluated in the practical stage and will finally enter the judging stage. In this way, the teams earn points based on different indicators and the final result will be announced by the judges.
