Dehghani in Telecom 2023: The share of the digital economy is 30 billion dollars of the country's total economy.

According to Ruhollah Dehghani, the share of Iran's digital economy is 6% of the country's total economy, which is about 30 billion dollars. He believes that the digital economy can take a share equal to 150 billion dollars from the global digital economy market.

At the opening ceremony of the 2023 Telecom Exhibition, Ruhollah Dehghani pointed out the 15% share of the digital economy in the world and said: “The share of the digital economy in our national economy is about 6%. That is, compared to the global average, a major part of the digital economy development capacity in our country has not flourished, and Iran's digital economy, which now accounts for about 30 billion dollars of GDP, can be at least two and a half times the current amount, that is, something reach about 75 billion dollars.

According to Iran's population, it is possible for the share of digital economy to reach 150 billion dollars.

Regarding the share of the digital economy in Iran, Dehghani added: “Given Iran's share of one percent of the world's population, there is a capacity to grow Iran's digital economy up to five times the current amount, i.e. up to 150 billion dollars.”

Dehghani declared the digital economy as one of the driving areas of the country's economy and said about the strengths of the digital economy: “One of the characteristics of the digital economy is that it is formed from a foundation based on technology and like some other areas, problems and There are no barriers to the penetration of technology into this field.”

He considered the digital economy to have two important components, human power and infrastructure, and continued: “As much as infrastructure is important, human power is equally important and important. Fortunately, we have low-cost, capable and available human resources.”

He also considered the efforts of other countries to attract human resources as an important point. From his point of view, it is necessary to act smarter to prevent brain drain.

Dehghani said about the role of the people and the government's effort to involve the people in the digital economy: “The smart thing of the government was to develop the infrastructure and reduce the role of the government in managing affairs, and by choosing the right path, the people were involved in the development of a major part of this economy. played a role. This economy has a serious and strong public base, and the sense of interest that people have in this field can be seen in the high acceptance of people towards the stocks of knowledge-based companies.

Finally, he mentioned the efforts of the Scientific Vice-Chancellor and its various headquarters, including the Digital Economy and Artificial Intelligence headquarters. It should be mentioned that this course will be held from the Telkom exhibition until the 5th of January this year in the permanent transport of international exhibitions in Tehran.
