LG CNS and XYZ collaborate to use robots in every aspect of logistics operations

South Korean IT solutions provider LG CNS has partnered with a Chinese AI robotics solutions company to collaborate on joint projects in domestic e-commerce order processing centers.

According to Hoshio, the two companies signed a memorandum of understanding to integrate Shanghai-based XYZ Robotics’ robot solutions with LG’s integrated robotics operations platform.

In addition, LG CNS announced that all robot solutions offered by the new platform will be integrated through a robot-as-a-service model. This means that customers can access and use robot devices through a subscription-based contract offered by robotics companies.

LG CNS said XYZ has excellent technology in the field of 3D vision, which is very similar to a robot’s view of the world, and in addition, XYZ has excellent capabilities in designing and manufacturing robot handles or hands. The Korean IT solutions provider unveiled its operational platform in July, which includes real-time analysis of customer orders using digital technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data.

The warehouse execution system specified in the platform can optimize the classification of products and their movement sequence, which helps to determine the most effective sequence for product movement, while the warehouse control system can closely control, monitor and analyze the robots and analyze Overall, the combination of these systems increases the overall efficiency and productivity of warehouse operations.

Under this partnership, they have already started their first project using a robotic platform for palletizing and de-palletizing in logistics centers.
