Google has recently announced via email to Android TV users that it will remove the Movies & TV service from this operating system from October 5 (October 13). However, users can still access the Android TV store page and buy the movies and series they want from other Google applications.

Google removed the mentioned service from the Android operating system in 2022 and replaced it with the Google TV application. This service was also removed from many smart TVs in 2021. With the removal of this service, now it becomes a little easier to buy movies and series from Google, but Google has still made three applications for buying and watching movies and series (YouTube, Android TV and Google TV) available to users.
These apps allow you to access all your purchased content, but users outside the US, UK, and some European countries may have trouble using these apps. Google’s Movies & TV service was available in 117 countries, but YouTube services were only provided in 45 countries, and it is currently unclear how users outside the countries covered by this platform should access their Movies & TV content library.
Google used to have only one store (Android Market, which later became Google Play) to sell all its content, but now the same content is available in several different stores. Now Google is trying to integrate its services and increase the chances of providing them on smart TVs. Considering this issue, it is not unlikely that we will see the removal of some other services of this company in the future.
