Samsung recently introduced the Galaxy Z Fold 5 foldable phone, and now the video of its bending test has been released, which you can see below.
In addition to the bending test, scratch and flame tests have also been performed on this phone. The outer screen of this phone is covered with glass and has been able to withstand Mohs level 6, but it has taken deeper scratches at level 7.
The internal display of this phone has a different condition and instead of glass, it has a plastic protective cover. Scratches occur on this coating at level 2 and deeper scratches occur at level 3. The frame of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is made of aluminum, and the hinge and buttons are made of metal.
Also, in the fire test, the protective plastic layer of the display melted after 10 seconds of exposure to the flame, but the external display lasted longer thanks to the glass coating. The fingerprint sensor of the phone also did not work after scratching.
In the bend test, when the phone is bent in the closed position, it does not suffer any damage. Also nothing happens when it opens and tilts back. Interestingly, competitors such as Google Pixel Fold and Motorola Razr 40 Ultra have been seriously damaged in the bending test. But Galaxy Z Fold 5 has successfully passed this test.
