Realme 16 5G received BIS certification

Realme is preparing to launch the Realme 16 5G phone in the Indian market. The device has recently been spotted in the BIS database, which officially confirms that it will be launched in India soon. This phone was previously introduced in the Vietnamese market and it is expected that the version released in India will be completely similar to the same model in terms of hardware.

The BIS listing spotted by TheTechOutlook website shows the model number RMX5171 with the Realme brand name. This certificate was issued on January 14. Although the product name is not listed directly on the BIS website, this model number was previously attributed to the Realme 16 5G phone. Tech whistleblower Abhishek Yadav had previously published information about the phone’s Indian variant’s memory and color options and also confirmed the model number RMX5171. The same model number is also seen in the list of supported devices of Google Play Console with the name Realme 16 5G, which definitely confirms the identity of this device.

According to previous information, the Realme 16 5G phone will be available in India in two configurations. These configurations include a version equipped with 8 GB of RAM with 128 GB of storage and a version with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. The colors considered for the Indian market will include Air Black and Air White.

Specifications of Realme 16 5G

The Realme 16 5G phone will be equipped with a 6.57-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a resolution of 2372 x 1080 pixels. The screen-to-body ratio of this device is declared to be 93% and it supports a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a touch sampling rate of 240 Hz. The brightness of the screen reaches 1000 nits in normal mode and increases to 4200 nits at its maximum. The screen is protected by DT Star D+ glass.

In the camera department, Realme 16 5G uses a 50-megapixel main camera with Sony IMX852 sensor along with a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor. The camera strap also has a built-in selfie mirror with a ring-shaped LED flash around it. In the front part of the device, a 50-megapixel selfie camera with a viewing angle of 86 degrees is installed. Camera capabilities include LumaColor processing and AI Edit Genie quick editing tools.

This phone is equipped with a Dimension 6400 Turbo chip and uses 8 or 12 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 2.2 internal memory. Memory expansion via microSD card and USB OTG support are also available. The software part of the device is developed based on realme UI 7.0.

The battery capacity of the phone is usually declared as 7000 mAh and its nominal capacity is 6830 mAh. This device supports 60W fast charging and wired reverse charging. The cooling system includes a steam chamber with an area of ​​6050 square millimeters. Realme 16 5G has IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K certifications for resistance to dust and water penetration. So far, the official release date of this phone in the Indian market has not been announced.
