An American woman, who pleaded guilty to paying $5,000,000 via Bitcoin to a professional hitman to kill her husband and fake the murder, has been sentenced to 5 years in prison.
Kristy Lynn Felkins, 38, from Nevada, pleaded guilty in March. The California court on Thursday announced that Felkins will be supervised for up to 3 years after serving his sentence and being released.
According to Felkins’ 2020 indictment, in 2016 she met a hitman website on the dark web and attempted to kill her ex-husband in California. Felkins also admitted that she paid an additional $4,000 to finish her husband’s murder faster. The American authorities have declared that this website was fake and only received money from users by deceiving them.
