Samsung has officially introduced its newest flagship chip named Exynos 2600. The Exynos 2600 chip is the world’s first processor that is produced with the 2nm manufacturing process and using Gate-All-Around (GAA) technology. Compared to the previous generation, this technology is expected to bring significant improvements in both performance and energy efficiency.
In addition to focusing on increasing efficiency, Samsung has also paid special attention to artificial intelligence in the Exynos 2600 and follows an integrated approach by integrating the central processing unit, neural processing unit and graphics processing unit in the form of a compact chip. The Samsung Exynos 2600 chip will compete in the flagship market with competitors such as Snapdragon 8 Elite 5th generation and Dimension 9500. In the following, all the important details related to this flagship chip are provided.
Samsung has not yet officially announced the names of devices that will be equipped with Exynos 2600. However, there is a high possibility that this processor will be first introduced with the Galaxy S26 series. According to reports, the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ models will be powered by the Exynos 2600 chip in select regions, while the Snapdragon 8 Elite 5th generation chip will be used in other markets. It is not yet clear whether the high-end Galaxy S26 Ultra model will also be equipped with this chip.
Exynos 2600 is the most advanced Exynos chip to date. Samsung has announced that the overall performance of the CPU compared to the previous generation has increased by 39% and significant improvements in energy efficiency have also been achieved. These achievements have been achieved by adding support for the ARM Scalable Matrix Extension 2 or SME2 instruction. This chip uses a 10-core structure, which includes a C1-Ultra cluster with a frequency of 3.8 GHz, a C1-Prox3 cluster with a frequency of 3.25 GHz, and a C1-Prox6 cluster with a frequency of 2.75 GHz. Samsung has replaced small cores with medium cores to achieve better performance.
Exynos 2600 is equipped with Xclipse 960 graphics processing unit based on AMD technology. According to Samsung, the processing power of this graphics unit has been doubled compared to the previous generation, and the ray tracing performance has also improved by 50%.
In the field of artificial intelligence capabilities, the Exynos 2600 is equipped with a 32K MAC Neural Processing Unit, which provides significant improvements for artificial intelligence processing on the device itself. Samsung has announced that this has led to a 113% increase in the performance of the neural processing unit compared to the previous generation, enabling faster processing of tasks related to artificial intelligence. These upgrades are designed to support features such as smart image editing, advanced voice assistant features, and other advanced AI-based experiences.
