It seems that Apple is looking for a new strategy in the field of artificial intelligence. Bloomberg analyst Mark Gorman has reported that Apple is trying to develop its own artificial intelligence technology to compete with OpenAI’s ChatGPT chatbot.
Gorman has said that Apple is testing a generative artificial intelligence chatbot called Apple GPT. Apparently, this platform uses a special framework called “Ajax”, which Apple has started developing since 2022.
Apple has already provided artificial intelligence capabilities that were used in the Safari search engine, the Siri smart assistant, and the Apple Maps application. Now it seems that the Ajax project will be used to create large language models.
However, Gorman emphasized that Apple may not release Apple GPT publicly, but instead will use it as an internal AI tool to address privacy concerns of employees using other companies’ AI.
In any case, we have to wait and see what plans Apple has in mind.
