Google has introduced new features for Gmail that are integrated with Google Calendar. These features include the ability to quickly create an event and easily share availability times. Gmail has added a calendar icon at the bottom of the conversation screen, which includes two options: “Create event” and “Suggest availability times”.
The Create Event option can create a Google Calendar event with the email subject as the event name and the email recipients as the event participants. This option will also create a session summary in the body of the email to allow for quick session sharing. This feature was previously available in Gmail, but not in the three-dot menu.
On the other hand, the “Share availability times” feature will open a calendar in Gmail’s sidebar, which will allow you to draw slots on different days and share your free times with email recipients. Although you can share your availability times with multiple people in one email, only the first person to accept a slot will be automatically added to the invite.
It should be noted that Google Calendar has provided new features such as the ability to support paid meetings and better sharing of workplace information. The first feature will help freelancers participate in paid meetings by integrating their Stripe account. The second feature will also allow people to share their work location during the day to indicate whether they work at home, the office, or another location.
