Apple launched the first set of iPad Pro tablets with its OLED panels last year. The company is now ready to introduce the next -generation iPad Pro models with faster performance. For these tablets, Samsung has begun producing OLED panels.
According to a report from the ZDnet Korea, Apple has chosen LG Display and Samsung Display to supply the iPad Pro OLED panels, which will be released in October this year. The mass production of these OLED panels has already begun. Apple has been reported in contracts compared to last year to increase its supply chain diversity. For the iPad Pro (2024) series, Samsung Display was responsible for producing OLED panels for the 5 -inch model, while LG was responsible for building the 5 -inch OLED panels. This year, it is rumored that both LG and Samsung will produce OLED panels for 4 -inch and 4 -inch models.
In addition to the OLED panel, it is said that the iPad Pro futures will have a M5 chipset for faster performance and higher performance. These tablets may also have an Apple logo on the back to match the horizontal orientation, unlike the current vertical orientation. This change is probably to match the iPados 26 and its multiple features similar to the MacOS, which can make users use the iPad in horizontally.
Reports indicate that Apple plans to use OLED panels for the iPad mini, which will be released in year 6 and the iPad Air in year 2. Therefore, it is likely that Samsung Display will earn more from Apple in the coming years.
