GPD company unveiled the updated version of the Win 4 handheld console with improved specifications. This version uses AMD Ryzen 7840U and 7640U processors.
The GPD Win 4 2023 handheld console is equipped with a 6-inch display, and while the previous Win 4 model came with an AMD Ryzen 7 6800U processor and Radeon RDNA 2 integrated graphics, the new version comes with AMD Ryzen 7840U and 7640U Phoenix processors. Both models use Radeon 780M and Radeon 780M iGPU graphics based on RDNA 3 architecture.
The Win 4 2023 handheld has more memory options, with the highest option having 64GB of internal memory, which is a large number for a handheld. Another change is the use of LPDDR5x-7500 memory, while the previous model used memory with a speed of 6400MT/s. Win 4 2023 will also have a 4TB PCIe 4.0 memory option.
This handheld console uses a 6-inch display with a resolution of 1080p and a refresh rate of 40 to 60 Hz. This display has a protective cover of Gorilla Glass 5, which will protect it from falling. In addition, this console is very similar in design to Sony’s PSP handheld console. This console has a sliding display mechanism and below it there is a physical keyboard.
The GPD Win 4 2023 handheld console is currently crowdfunding on Indiegogo and will launch in August 2023. Its price is not yet known and we have to see at what price it will reach the customers.
