According to the request of Samsung’s recent patent registration released by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the company is planning to charge the Galaxy Rings through a special gap on the back of the Galaxy phones. In addition, Samsung’s smart loop will be able to transfer users’ health and physical activity to the phone when charging.
Of course, the registered patent does not indicate that the Galaxy Ring charging slot is made on the phone or will be part of a special frame. However, patent images refer to the firm but flexible design of the phone or frame that can charge the Samsung ring directly. Currently, the Galaxy Ring can be charged using a special case that supports USB-C cable connection and wireless charging.

In addition, users can place the ring case behind their Galaxy phone, which uses Wireless PowerShare technology to charge. If the technology presented in the patent becomes reality, the Galaxy Ring ring can be charged directly through the phone or frame, and the other will not need to be charged.
Of course, this method may also have specific problems. For example, adding a charging gap may increase the thickness of the phone or Samsung will have to change the location of its internal components. It is also likely that the new Korean technology will raise the price of phones.
