More than ten years ago, Mercedes-AMG introduced its first all-electric car. Note that this car was not EQS. The SLS AMG electric car, which was produced in a very limited number, was the first Stuttgart powerful electric car. However, Mercedes did not offer another electric car with the AMG badge until the EQ series introduced. But the situation will change soon. According to reports, the company is developing several electric cars based on one proprietary platform and the first models will be introduced this year.
AMG will unveil two high -performance electric cars based on its new platform: a chassis and a sport sedan. According to reports, the Sport model will replace the AMG GT 4-DOOR COUPE and is inspired by the Vision AMG 2022 concept. The exact details are still unclear, but Mercedes has released information about the electric car that will excite enthusiasts.
How will it look like?
The new performance sedan seems to be inspired by the Vision AMG concept design. The car, which will be slightly long than the current AMG GT 4-DOOR, will maintain similar proportions in the production model, according to images released by Mercedes-Benz. However, significant changes to the rear of the car are visible.

The rendered images try to remove the camouflage cover and show the possible appearance of this AMG when unveiling. These images depict the car with a redesigned Panamerikana front, lower nose and prominent fenders. Also, preview images show an electric car with a canard on the front bumper and active rear spoiler.
Although rendered images do not show the rear of the car, images released by AMG reveal details. Unfortunately, the sharp end of the main concept design is not seen in this model. The rear design is replaced with a more functional design and the subtle design details are hidden under the cover. It is difficult to distinguish between other design elements, but the short rear box looks familiar. Most likely, the car will, like its previous model, be a five -dad lift.
What will Mercedes call it?
It is still unclear what AMG will choose for its new electric sedan, but the car will replace the not-so-called AMG GT 4-DOOR model. However, we are sure that it will not use the prefix of the EQ. Mercedes is changing its approach to naming electric cars, and instead of this prefix, it intends to use the term EQ Technology after the model name. This naming method is currently underway and was released last year with the introduction of the G580 with the EQ Technology. However, AMG can take a completely different approach.

What platform will be mounted?
The Coupe 4 is built in the Mercedes-AMG electricity based on the new and proprietary AMG.ea architecture. AMG will not share the 4V platform with the original Mercedes models and maintains this technology exclusively for itself. The car uses a thinner battery that results in a larger interior and a 5 % increase in energy density. The platform also supports an AMG SUV with similar performance in larger dimensions and even a supercar.
What will give it?
It is expected to use at least two of these engines in the AMG all-electric car, which results in the power of more than 2 horsepower and torque beyond the 5 pounds. The standard four -wheel drive system will be built into the car, and it is also possible to configure a three -engine power with nearly 6 hp.

When will it be sold?
The exact date for the official introduction of the sedan has not yet been announced, but it is expected to be unveiled earlier this year. This will most likely mean the launch of electric cars early in the year. However, it is still unclear whether one model will enter the market sooner than the other or both will be offered simultaneously.
How much will it be?
The Performance Electric Car, which is set to replace the AMG GT 4-DOOR COUPE, is currently selling for $ 5. In contrast, the brand’s flagship electric sedan, EQS, comes at $ 5, but it is a+ 1 base model that produces only 2 horsepower, which has much less than 5 horsepower AMG for its sedan and SUV models.
The AMG EQS model, which is capable of producing up to 5 hp, is selling for $ 2. Given that the AMG coupe uses new engine and battery technologies on the platform and will have more power, the base price is expected to be easily higher than $ 5.

What cars will compete?
This electric sedan will compete in the market with other powerful electric sedans such as Porsche Tikan. The Porsche base model price is slightly over $ 5, but it only produces 2 horsepower. The car will also compete with models such as the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra with 6 horsepower from China, Lucid Air and Tesla Model S.
Does that mean the death of AMG V-8?
Although the Mercedes-AMG is designing a proprietary platform for its electric cars, the brand has announced that new models with the V8 engine are also being manufactured. However, the company is confident that its customers will welcome the world of electric cars. Last year, AMG CEO Michael Sheba said that customers’ interest in the V8 models was not just their engine volume. Rather, they have also been attracted to the brand because of the advanced technologies used in these cars.
