Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy S25 does not use its DRAM memory and storage chips.
Prior to the launch of the Galaxy S25, it was rumored that Samsung probably didn’t use its storage chips and DRAM on new high -end phones. Now, according to the information obtained, the rumor is right.
Micron, the manufacturer of American memory chips, has confirmed that the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus and Galaxy S25 Ultra are equipped with UFS 4.0 and LPDDDR5X DRAM chips. Micron shared this information by posting a post on the X -Social Network and then confirmed by the Samsung smartphone section. It should be noted that Micron is one of Samsung’s main competitors in the semiconductor memory chips.
According to Micron, DRAM LPDDDR5X chips are built with advanced process technology and optimized to perform better at lower voltage levels than competing chips. This improves the battery life of the chips.
This is probably the first time that Samsung has not used its chips for flagship smartphones and has turned to the use of foreign brand memory chips. All the previous phones used DRAM and Samsung semiconductor storage chips, so the decision would hit the Samsung memory chip business.
