Wi-Fi standards are constantly evolving as a driving force to improve the speed and quality of wireless communication. Every new generation of these standards, using advanced technologies, pushes the potential of wireless networks to new borders.
Wi-Fi, the last member of the Wi-Fi standards family, came into being in the 5th year. Although some routers and smartphones support the technology, the process of development and implementation continues and is expected to reach full maturity by the end of the year.
Samsung, as one of the pioneers of the mobile industry, decided to refuse to update its flagship phones to Wi -Fi in the year 6. However, the Snapdragon chip used on these devices was capable of supporting WiFi 2. In contrast, the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 4 Pro, which used the Samsung Exynos modem, were equipped with Wi -Fi technology.
In the 5th year, Samsung decided to incorporate support for Wi -Fi in some of its products. The Galaxy S4 Ultra was the company’s first smartphone to benefit from the technology. However, the Galaxy S4 and S4 Plus continued to be content with Wi -Fi 4E, as the Exynos 2 chip used in these models supported the Wi -Fi 4E.
In the near future, we will see the Wi-Fi 7 in a wide range of Galaxy products. Among the devices that will be equipped with this technology include:
Galaxy S24 Ultra
Galaxy Fold Special Version
Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra
Galaxy S25
Galaxy S25 Plus
Galaxy S25 Ultra
