In a historic event, the price of Bitcoin crossed the $100,000 mark. This digital currency reached this important milestone for the first time in its 16 years of life.
This event is reminiscent of one of the most famous stories in the world of digital currencies. In 2010, a Florida man named Laszlo Hanich paid 10,000 Bitcoins for two Papa’s pizzas. This transaction, which is considered to be the first commercial transaction of Bitcoin, has now reached the astronomical value of one billion dollars.
In 2013, Hanich said in an interview with The New York Times that he did not regret the deal and described it as an interesting experience. However, given its current value of 10,000 Bitcoins, many people may have a different opinion.
Currently, Papa John’s market cap is $1.567 billion. Had Hanich kept those 10,000 bitcoins, he could have bought almost two-thirds of the company.
