In this article, we are going to teach you 8 practical tips for sorting apps on your Android phone. Installing too many programs causes the phone to be crowded and thus makes it difficult to find the desired program. In this situation, it is necessary to put the sorting of programs in our agenda.
Installing more applications makes the Android phone crowded. This may make it difficult to find the desired program. Therefore, the need to organize and sort programs becomes important. In today’s article, we will examine several methods to better organize the applications installed on the phone.
Note that the steps given in this article may differ depending on the phone model. The tutorial below gives more of a general idea of where the different options are located.
1- Classification of programs in folders
In Android phones, you can put your programs in them by creating folders. This will help you categorize your apps and find related apps at the same time. For example, you can put all programs related to social networks such as Facebook and Instagram in one folder.
To create such a folder, first go to your home page. Tap and hold the first app you want to categorize, then drag the app to another related app. Android creates a folder where both apps are placed. You can also select apps from the drop-down menu and create new folders for them.

To add more apps to the folder, simply drag and drop the apps into the desired folder. Android automatically names the folder based on the apps you’ve added to it. However, it is also possible to change the name. To do this, open the folder, tap the current name, and type a new name.
To remove an app from a folder, navigate to the desired folder, tap and hold the app, and drop the app out of the folder. Note that this will remove the app from the folder and not delete it from the phone.
2- Pinning programs to the bottom of the screen
On Android, you can move your favorite apps to the bottom of the screen for easier access and run them from there.
To pin, find the app in the drop-down menu or on the home screen. Drag and drop it at the bottom. With this, the program will be placed at the bottom of the page.

You can only pin a limited number of apps at the bottom. If the space at the bottom is full, tap and hold on an app to remove it from that area.
3- Sorting programs in the drop-down menu
You can sort the programs by using the filters in the drop-down menu. By doing this, you will be able to see the essential programs at the top of the menu.
To do this, first go to your phone’s drop-down menu. In the upper right corner, select Manage and then click Sort. In the displayed window, you will see the Sort Apps By option, through which you can sort your programs by name, installation time, and usage.

By choosing one of these options, the Android phone will sort and display the apps based on it in the drop-down menu. You can always go back to the default sort by following the same steps.
4- Changing the layout of the main page
Another app organizing tip is to customize the home screen layout to include more or less apps. With this, you will be able to have as many programs as you want on your home screen.
To change the layout, tap and hold on an empty space on your home screen and select Layout from the bottom bar. Choose your desired layout type. Options include 3×6, 4×5, 4×6, 5×5, and 5×6 layouts.

After selecting the new layout, tap Apply to apply the changes.
5- Using home page widgets
Many apps offer widgets that can be used on the home screen without opening them. The most common example is the clock widget that you get from the Clock app. Without opening the clock app, you can see the time on the phone’s home page using the widget.
To view and add widgets to the home screen, tap and hold an empty space on the home screen and select Widgets from the bottom bar. At this stage, all available widgets will be displayed for you. To add a widget to your home screen, tap and hold and drop it on your home screen.

To remove a widget from the home screen, just tap and hold on the widget and select the Remove option.
6- Removing unwanted programs from the main screen
If your home screen is full of apps, you can clear it by removing unwanted apps. Of course, it should be noted that in this case, the program is only removed from the main screen and remains in the phone system itself.
To remove an app from the home screen, tap and hold the desired app and select Remove. Then, in the opened menu, select the Remove option again.

By following the steps above, you can remove any unwanted app from your phone’s home screen. If you ever want to add an app to the home screen, drag the app from the drawer and drop it on the home screen.
7- Prevent new Android apps from being added to the home screen
Many Android phones automatically add newly installed apps to the home screen. This makes it easier to access apps, but you can disable this feature if you’re not interested.
To do this, tap and hold an empty space on your home screen and select More from the bottom bar. On the next screen, disable Add Apps to Home Screen.

8- Locking the home screen layout
In order to prevent possible accidental changes to the home screen, you can lock the current layout. With this, the possibility of any change on the main page will be zero.
To lock the layout, tap and hold an empty space on your home screen and select More from the bottom bar. In the displayed menu, turn on the Lock Home Screen Layout option.

By following the tips and steps above, you can sort and organize the apps on your Android phone. This makes it easier to find apps and increases your productivity. In this way, you can fully enjoy working with your phone.
