Mohammadreza Faraji Tehrani announced that the provision of foreign exchange and the increase in supply, as well as the decrease in the exchange rate, have caused a six to seven percent decrease in the price of laptops, tablets and printers in recent weeks.
In an interview with ISNA, he emphasized that the price of IT goods is mainly dependent on the exchange rate, and said that last week we saw a significant price reduction in the field of IT goods: “Many activists in this field waited for about 100 days for the supply of currency, which is part of the demand. It was also recently paid. This action led to an increase in the supply of goods in the market, which affected the price.
According to Faraji, the decrease in the currency price also affects the demand situation in the market and leads to a recession: “In this situation, the primary merchants sell their goods with a profit of one to two percent, and this caused a further decrease in the price of IT goods.”
The head of Tehran Computer Technologists Union said that currently the cheapest laptop in the market, which can be used by students, is about 8,600,000 Tomans.
