Scientists have recently found a way to self-destruct cancer cells by combining two proteins.
Researchers have succeeded in creating a new combination of two proteins that can destroy cancer cells. If the results are positive, we can hope for cancer treatment.
One of the proteins is called BCL6, which usually increases blood cancers by suppressing genes that cause apoptosis. Apoptosis is the process through which cell death is initiated. When BCL6 binds to another protein called CDK9, it causes cancer cells to self-destruct by activating apoptosis genes. In this method, cancer cells are destroyed without harming healthy cells. Therefore, this method can be considered a turning point in cancer treatment.
The scientists are currently testing the compound on mice with diffuse large cell lymphoma to assess its effectiveness in vivo. If the results are positive and successful, it could lead to extraordinary advances in the field of oncology.
