Qualcomm unveiled the world’s fastest mobile chip, the 4th generation Snapdragon 8 or the Snapdragon 8 Elite. This chip is supposed to compete with Dimension 9400.
As the fastest mobile processor in the world, Snapdragon 8 Elite uses a custom Oryon CPU made by Qualcomm. While the previous generations used Kryo kernels based on ARM architecture.
Snapdragon 8 Elite is made using 3nm technology and consists of 8 processing cores, including 2 powerful cores and 6 performance cores. This processor is able to achieve a maximum frequency of 4.32 GHz.
Qualcomm also claims that the chip has the industry’s largest shared cache, which allows for incredibly fast data access. In addition, the new Adreno GPU with a revolutionary architecture offers faster performance and more efficient energy consumption.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite chip is designed with a focus on productive artificial intelligence and uses Qualcomm’s artificial intelligence engine with the ability to understand multifaceted artificial intelligence. This engine is able to understand sound, text and images well and helps to perform various tasks using the smartphone camera.
Compared to the previous generation of Qualcomm chips, the Snapdragon 8 Elite has 45% faster CPU performance and 44% better energy efficiency.
This chip uses Snapdragon X80 5G modem with Wi-Fi 7 and 5G support. It is expected that this chip will be used in Android phones of companies such as Google, Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi, etc.
