Qualcomm has recently confirmed the security vulnerability of its Snapdragon chips. Millions of Android phones worldwide are exposed to this vulnerability.
According to Qualcomm, hackers have exploited a zero-day security bug and this security hole has been observed in dozens of chips used in Android phones.
Apparently, 64 Qualcomm chips are affected by this vulnerability, one of which is Snapdragon 8 generation 1, which is used in phones such as Galaxy S22 Ultra, OnePlus 10 Pro, Sony Xperia 1 IV, Oppo Find X5 Pro, Honor Magic 4 Pro, Xiaomi 12 and… have been used. Snapdragon modems and Qualcomm’s FastConnect modules, which are used for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections, are also affected.
A Qualcomm spokesperson said the company has sent a security patch to phone manufacturers, but it is up to the manufacturers to release it to their users.
It is not yet known exactly how many users and Android phones have been affected by the security vulnerability of Snapdragon chips.
