According to a new leak, Google is planning to add some of the Pixel 9 Pro’s exclusive camera features to older Pixel models.
Reports suggest that Google plans to transfer several camera features from its Pixel 9 Pro flagship to older smartphone models. The company will adapt these features first for the Pixel 6 series.
According to the news site Android Authority, evidence has been seen in the new version of the Google Photos app that shows that the Auto Frame and Reimagine features that are specific to the Pixel 9 will soon be available for the older models of the Pixel 6, Pixel 7 and Pixel 8.
Using the Auto Frame feature, users will be able to change the format of a photo from horizontal to vertical, and Reimagine allows changing the background of photos.
These features are currently only available for the Pixel 9 series, but in Google Photos version 6.99 there is evidence that older models will soon support these features.
The exact date when these features will roll out to older Pixel models is not yet known, but they are expected to come via an upcoming update to the Google Photos app.
