Microsoft has announced that support for Windows 10 version 21H2, known as the November 2021 update (November 1400), will end on June 11, 2024 (June 22, 1403).
According to one of the company's announcements, initially the Education and Enterprise versions will include the end of support, which will lead to the cessation of monthly quality updates that are released to fix bugs and vulnerabilities.
Although users of these versions can upgrade their Windows 10 to the latest version, the end of support for them will mark another step towards the end of this popular operating system.
This change will include Enterprise, Enterprise multi-session, Education and IoT Enterprise editions of Windows 10.
Microsoft urges affected users to upgrade to the latest version of Windows 10 instead of using an unsupported operating system. Currently, the date of October 14, 2025 (October 22, 1404) has been confirmed for the end of support for the final version of Windows 10 (version 22H2).
To ensure devices are protected against bugs and security issues, Microsoft has committed to releasing automatic updates for those using unsupported operating systems.
According to Statcounter media, 7 out of 10 desktop computers worldwide use Windows (72 percent), while two-thirds (67 percent) of all installed operating systems are dedicated to Windows 10, which indicates that is that this operating system is an unmissable option for economic users. In contrast, Windows 11 is only 28% of all installed operating systems.
Additionally, Microsoft has just started rolling out version 23H2 to eligible devices nearing the end of their service life. The latest Windows 11 update includes improvements for business-enterprise and education-oriented purposes, along with support for Passkeys and improved artificial intelligence provided by the Copilot in-system program.
