Apple has officially launched its Vision Pro mixed reality headset in its stores today. This headset costs 3500 dollars.
This headset, which was introduced last year, has finally been released after many delays. The Apple Vision Pro headset is first available in the US and will be available for purchase at Apple Stores starting Friday morning local time.
Of course, those who are not able to pay $3,500 to buy Vision Pro, can experience the demo of this headset by attending an Apple store.
Vision Pro has two 4K micro OLED displays with a refresh rate of 90 to 100 Hz that show virtual reality, and its external cameras can provide augmented reality capabilities by using Pass-Through mode.
This headset is equipped with an M2 main chip and an R1 chip for processing information from cameras and sensors. Vision Pro has a 10-core graphics processor along with 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB to 1 TB of storage.
Recently, The Elec website reported that Apple will probably only be able to supply 400,000 units of its new headset every year, and the reason is that Sony, as a manufacturer of displays for this headset, cannot make more than this number.
The website said that Samsung can produce a maximum of 100,000 to 200,000 panels per quarter with 400,000 to 800,000 per year. If we consider the two screens of the Vision Pro, Apple Maximum can release 400,000 units of this headset in one year. Apparently, Apple has asked Sony to increase its production capacity, which Sony has refused.
The Vision Pro design is very sophisticated and has unique features such as EyeSight, which includes additional views that are visible to others. These capabilities, along with the advanced technology of high-resolution micro-OLED displays, had caused the release of this headset to be delayed several times. Now customers have access to it from today.
