Fossil announced that it will leave the smart watch market. The company plans to direct its resources to less smart products such as traditional watches and jewelry.
According to Fossil's decision, the Fossil Gen 6 watch introduced in 2021 will be the last smart watch of this brand.
Fosil's spokesperson said: “Given that the smart watch market has evolved in the last few years, we want to exit this market through a strategic decision. Our goal is to direct our resources to our strengths, which continue to have significant growth opportunities. “We will focus on designing and supplying traditional watches, jewelry and leather goods under our own brand or licensed brands.”
While everyone was waiting for the introduction of the new generation of Fossil watch called Gen 7, now it is clear that this watch will never be made. Fossil plans to completely exit the smart watch market.
Of course, Fossil has announced that it will continue to update its current watches based on the Wear OS operating system.
In recent months, there have been many rumors about Fossil's possible exit from the smartwatch market. Some Reddit users had reported that Fossil retail employees had said the company would exit its smartwatch business.
Fossil was one of the best smart watch manufacturers in the world and regularly attended the CES exhibition. But the company was not present at the CES 2024 exhibition this year. Now this company has decided to concentrate its resources in other parts of its business.
