After introducing the Meteor Lake series processors, Intel has now introduced the 14th generation HX series processors for laptops.
Intel has unveiled these processors with the Raptor Lake Refresh architecture at the CES 2024 exhibition and they are going to be used in laptops from Asus, Lenovo, Acer, MSI, Razer and other companies.
One of the important features of these processors is support for Thunderbolt 5 and Intel Application optimizations. Therefore, faster performance is expected for them when running programs and games.
The most powerful processor in this series is the Core i9-14900HX model with 24 cores and 32 processing threads and a maximum frequency of 5.8 GHz. After that, there is the Core i7-14700HX model, which has 20 processing cores with a maximum frequency of 5.5 GHz. The Core i7-14650HX model with 16 cores and a frequency of 5.2 GHz is the next processor in this series.
The next models are Core i5-14500HX and 14450HX, which have 14 and 10 cores, respectively, and their maximum frequency reaches 4.9 and 4.8 GHz. All these models have a basic power consumption of 55 watts and a final power of 157 watts in turbo mode and use Intel UHD graphics.
According to Intel, the 14th generation HX series processors are faster than their AMD competitors. For example, Core i9-14900HX is faster in running games than Ryzen 9 7945HX3D.
