Sam Altman, after being fired from OpenAI company in the past days, has now been re-elected as CEO of this company after negotiations with the board of directors. Former OpenAI chief Greg Brockman, who resigned on Friday, will also reportedly return.
In a post on X, the company said the original board of directors has been dissolved and a new three-member board has been formed, consisting of Brett Taylor, Larry Summers and Adam D’Angelo.
Altman also confirmed this news in a post and said: “With the new board of directors and the support of Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, I look forward to returning to OpenAI and continuing to work with Microsoft.” These comments mean that Altman will no longer be joining Microsoft.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella also said in a post: “We are pleased with the changes to the OpenAI board of directors. We believe this was the first step towards a more informed direction of OpenAI.”
On Monday, nearly all OpenAI employees warned in a letter to the board that they would resign and join Microsoft if Altman did not return as CEO.
