Mediatek introduced its latest 8000 series chip called Dimension 8300. This chip is based on the second generation of TSMC’s 4nm process and is considered the direct successor of Dimension 8200.
Dimension 8300 has 4 Arm Cortex-A715 performance cores with a clock speed of 3.35 GHz and 4 efficient Arm Cortex-A510 cores with a speed of 2.2 GHz. All eight cores have Armv9 architecture and MediaTek claims that its new chip has up to 20% faster processing performance and 30% less energy consumption than Dimension 8200.
This chip uses the Arm Mali-G615 MC6 graphics processor, which has a 60% increase in performance and 55% better efficiency than its previous generation. The new MediaTek chip also supports four-channel LPDDR5X RAM with a speed of 8533 MB/s and UFS 4.0 memory.
The APU 780 inside the Dimension 8300 makes it the first chip in its class to support generative artificial intelligence with up to 10 billion parameters. The chip also features an Imagiq 980 ISP that supports 320MP cameras and 4K video recording at 60fps.

Dimension 8300 is equipped with a 5G modem capable of supporting dual 5G connection with a download speed of 5.17Gbps in networks below 6GHz. This chip also supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4.
Xiaomi has confirmed that it will introduce the Redmi K70E with Dimension 8300 later this month.
