Recently, there have been many rumors about the addition of new GeForce RTX 40 Super graphics cards to Nvidia’s Ada Lovelace series of graphics cards. The website Benchlife has revealed that a GeForce RTX 4080 Super card with 20GB of VRAM is on the way. That would be a major upgrade over the RTX 4080 with 16GB.
Earlier this month, the first information about the RTX 40 Super was released via MEGAsizeGPU. According to this information, GeForce RTX 4080 Super (maybe Ti) will be released in early 2024. This card will be based on the AD102 GPU with a TGP of less than 450W, but will have a similar price to the RTX 4080.
It is also claimed that Nvidia is preparing an RTX 4070 Super based on the AD103 with 256-bit bandwidth and 16G VRAM. The MEGAsizeGPU website also said that the RX 4070 D6 model will come with GDDR6.
If the RTX 4080 Super is released at the same price as the RTX 4080, it will reduce the price of the non-Super card to compete well with Nvidia’s products, such as AMD’s Radeon RX 7900 XTX. Also the RTX 4070 Super and RTX 4070 D6 will fill the price/performance gaps.
Considering the recent US sanctions against China, the RTX 4080 Super may be very attractive in the Chinese market.
