SpaceX unveiled an improved version of the Super Heavy booster. This modified version has a perforated part that allows the engines to be turned on when the spacecraft docks.
According to Tekna technology news service, SpaceX has added new hardware to the initial version of the Starship rocket to prepare it for test flight. The rocket consists of two reusable parts. The first part contains the large super heavy booster, and the other forms the upper stage spacecraft called the Starship.
These two parts have been tested only once so far. Since the failed test flight, the company has made significant changes to the spacecraft and its booster. One of them is to create a separation of the spacecraft that can be used in the next test launch. In this launch, we will see the separation of these two stages in a new way.
On August 18, SpaceX had published images related to the new super heavy hardware on the former Twitter. The company announced that the new feature, called the hot staging separation method, is capable of turning on the upper section engines to separate the booster.
Currently, SpaceX is waiting for a license from the Federal Aviation Administration in the United States for its next rocket test. The Civil Aviation Authority is still investigating the Starship explosion.
